The reins of the company were gradually handed over to his son, Mr Krishnaraj, a business graduate, in the year 1988. His approach, to a very large extent, was shaped by his father’s thinking. At a time when competition was fierce and many companies faced survival issues, Kris had the responsibility of taking the company forward. It was a free market and to Kris, the central fact of that market was no exchange happened unless both parties benefited. Applying that basic reasoning to all levels within the organization and to those associated with it from the outside, he ensured its growth. With cross functional excellence, and a rare combination of patience and daring, the soft-spoken Kris meticulously planned Jupiter’s’ rise.
